IdentityI am Darshana Purohit, and I specialize in teaching calligraphy, focusing on soft and brush styles, as well as handwriting improvement. I hold a BA, an MA, and an MPhil in Public Administration, along with an MBA. Additionally, I am a government-certified handwriting expert and have been certified in Jolly Grammar and Jolly Phonics. My diverse educational background has not only given me a strong academic foundation but also enriched my teaching approach. I have been passionate about the art of calligraphy and handwriting since my early years, and today, I am thrilled to share my knowledge with my students.
My teaching journey began at the college level, where I initially focused on HR and marketing training. Over the years, I have worked in various educational roles, including as a school coordinator at Kidzee and other local schools. In 2013, I began offering after-school calligraphy and handwriting sessions at my own center, where I introduced children and adults alike to the art of beautiful handwriting and creative calligraphy. This shift in my career allowed me to pursue my passion full-time, and I have been blessed to watch my students improve their handwriting skills and express themselves artistically through calligraphy.
I have also had the honor of winning the second prize in the Asia Book of Records for my calligraphy, an achievement that motivates me to continue honing my craft and teaching it to others. I have been conducting both offline and online classes, and each session is designed to provide in-depth learning in a supportive, interactive environment. My students range from beginners to advanced learners, and I cater my lessons to suit each individual's needs. Whether it's the graceful soft style or the bold brush style, I ensure that each student is confident in their ability to master the technique.
The offline sessions are conducted at my home, where I create a peaceful, focused environment conducive to learning. I offer online sessions as well, making my classes accessible to students everywhere. My sessions last for one hour, and I provide flexible scheduling options, with 15 sessions offered Monday to Friday, and additional weekend classes available for those who prefer them. I believe in making the learning process enjoyable, so I incorporate interactive elements in every class, encouraging my students to practice regularly and share their work with me for personalized feedback.
As a teacher, I place great emphasis on providing additional resources for my students. I share notes, handwriting copies, and instructional videos to help reinforce the lessons. These materials are designed to guide students outside of class and give them the opportunity to practice at their own pace. I also provide ongoing support, ensuring that my students feel encouraged and motivated to improve their skills consistently.
