'return' is used to transfer the control back to the calling function from the called function. For example : int funA() { ----- ----- return 1; } void funB() { funA(); }

Modulus operator '%' gives the remainder of any expression. For example : r=10%3; // r is 1 , because if you divide 10 by 3 then the remainder is 1

If you want to test a variable against the single number (i.e. n==1,n==2, n==3 , etc.) rather than a range of numbers (i.e. (n>=1 && n<=10)), then switch statement is a better option.
