Teaching drawing, sketching, and painting in fine arts has been an enriching experience that has allowed me to nurture creativity and technical skills in students. My journey as an art instructor began with understanding that every student has a unique artistic vision, and my role is to guide them in expressing it effectively. Over the years, I have developed a teaching methodology that combines fundamental techniques with creative exploration. In drawing and sketching, I focus on building strong foundations, such as understanding proportions, anatomy, perspective, and shading techniques. Through structured exercises, students gradually develop their ability to observe and translate what they see onto paper. I also emphasize freehand sketching to enhance spontaneity and improve hand-eye coordination. For painting, I introduce students to color theory, mixing techniques, and the use of different mediums like watercolors, acrylics, and oils. I encourage them to experiment with textures and styles while providing insights into brush handling, layering, and composition. Students work on diverse themes, including landscapes, portraits, and abstract art, helping them find their unique style. Art history is integrated into my teaching to inspire students by introducing them to iconic artworks and movements. I conduct workshops, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions to make learning engaging. Witnessing students grow in confidence and creativity, from mastering basic strokes to creating complex compositions, has been immensely rewarding.
