Hi Avishkar,

Both IELTS and TOEFL tests your english proficiency.

When it comes to the difficulty level both tests have their own testing method. For the comfort of the students, TOEFL is bringing down the difficulty level without compromising the quality by changing the question format. It has integrated question types that acts as a simulator of daily life situation.

Also, now TOEFL is changing its duration to 2 hrs compared to 3hrs earlier and that too speaking will be done on the same day. You should look into some sample tests on both to understand the format and difficulty level. WOuld you be having any queries, feel free to reach me out.

Comparing the difficulty level of the IELTS and TOEFL exams is subjective as it depends on an individual's strengths, weaknesses, and familiarity with the test formats. Both exams assess English language skills but have slight differences. TOEFL primarily focuses on academic English and is entirely computer-based, while IELTS assesses a wider range of language abilities and offers both computer-based and paper-based options. Some test takers find TOEFL more challenging due to its integrated tasks, while others find IELTS more difficult due to its varying accents in the listening section. Ultimately, it is advisable to understand the requirements of your specific institution or organization and choose the exam that aligns better with your strengths and preparation. read less
