P can do a work in the same time in which Q and R together can do it. If P and Q work together, the work can be completed in 10 days. R alone needs 50 days to complete the same work. then Q alone can do it in?

Let assume time taken by P,Q and R is p ,q and r respectively. Efficiency 1/p,1/q and 1/r respectively. 1/p + 1/q = 1/10-------1 1/p = 1/q + 1/50 1/p - 1/q = 1/50 -------2 from 1 and 2 2/p = 6/50 now 3/50 + 1/q = 1/10 => 1/q = 1/10 - 3/50 = 2/50 = 1/25 q = 25.
