I will provide the step by step solution for easy understanding.
1. first convert the mixed fraction into improper fraction : 1 2/5 = (1*5 +2)/5 = 7/5
2. Now the question becomes 7/5+ 4/15 , we can see that the denominators are different . To solve the fraction we have to make the denominators same . for doing that multiply first fraction by 3
3. (7*3)/(5*3) = 21/15
4. The question now becomes really easy to solve : 21/15 + 4/15 = (21 + 4) / 15 = 25/15
5. we can simplify the fraction to 5/3 .
Therefore : 1 2/5 + 4/15 = 5/3
