Class 10 is all about making your basics clear and strong with right practice. Compared to higher classes, class 10 only needs understanding the required fact and practicing them in the right way. If you are a student who can grasp concepts easily or with least difficulty, then consider getting yourself equipped with good study material and practice papers, but if you are a student who needs a 'push' to study and help in learning , then I suggest you to get a tutor. The key is 'practice' and 'consistency' to achieve a good percentage, nothing else.

This completely depends on your interest and understanding level in the subject. If you have good basics and a decent score in class 9 science, then it is not tution but only appropriate study resources and practice which you need. Consider tution only if you need guidance in the subject or have difficulty in grasping the concepts. From my point of view, try realizing your interests and capabilities before enroling yourself at any tution or coaching center. This is only with regard to class 10 board examination.

Class 9 mathematics (CBSE) seems to be difficult because of the transition from class 8 to class 9. There are many new topics in class 9 which might seem difficult initially but with practice they become easier. A vigorous practice in class 9 will make class 10 mathematics much easier. Though topics such as Trigonometry which is completely new in grade 10 could be little hard but learning and practicing it in the right way will make it easier.  Thus, both classes have almost same level of difficulty.
