Hi Aakanksha,
As per my viewpoint, if you have to choose between Hadoop Development or Tableau, it is always advisable to go with Hadoop. Reason being, Tableau is not regarded as a language; it is more of a click-based tool more suited for folks coming from non-business backgrounds. If you are having programming knowledge and have an idea of a big data stack, always prefer a Hadoop development project.

Hi there,
The only advantage I could think is that MS-Excel is easy to use. Even though you can do many things with Excel, for detailed statistical analysis, to plot different types of beautiful charts, to handle data in huge volumes, any day tools such as R and Tableau are better.
Of course, Excel may be used in many complex calculations, but for detailed data analysis, it is better to use R, and for accessible visualisations, we can go ahead with Tableau.
