Microbiology is taught in B Sc , M Sc as well as in MBBS. The course content is almost similar except that there is more stress laid on the medical aspects in the MBBS class. Also as it’s an applied subject its practical applications are very important. It needs to be practiced for which basic knowledge of the subject is essential. I have more than 30 years of experience in teaching microbiology at various levels including the doctors and nurses, it enables me to lay more stress as per the requirements of the students. As I am a Board certified medical Microbiologist from USA and a Corporate Member of the Australian society of medical technologists , I have a vaste exposure to the application of microbiology. But at the same time it’s essential to lay a clear foundation at the UG and PG level.
