I first identify the level of prerequisite learning gaps if any required before teaching a new topic to the student. If gaps found, I teach the relevant prerequisite first for a solid foundation. Then I focus on teaching the concepts clearly at a pace which the student grasps with as much real life examples as possible. I make use of any online resource available, like wikipedia, ted-ex, khan academy or youtube etc. Teaching with diagrams, interactive software, 3D models always garners interest, curiosity and willingness to learn for my students. This self-induced learning in turn makes my students love the subject and learn with critical thinking instead of rote-learning. So they get very good first class results.
