Etched with the ethos of “Transforming Lives and Nurturing Leaders,” I am a talent builder with over thirty-three years of demonstrated excellence as physics teacher at 10+2 levels encompassing International Baccalaureate (IB), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). I have extensive experience in dealing with stakeholders and students with cultural diversity, and am adept with the contemporary best practices in holistic education that includes, “learning by doing,” and blended collaborative learning that uses virtual and real resources, backed with practical demonstration and reflective feedback. Alumni of Mumbai and Annamalai University, I am a post graduate in Physics, and hold diploma in higher education, and B.Ed. Recently, I also successfully completed a short five-week course “Numbers for life” through eLearning from the Carnegie Melon University, USA. I have taught in different school curriculums across major cities in the country that includes, Mumbai, Lonavla, Kharagpur, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Bhopal, Gurgaon (Delhi) and Hyderabad. I have the experience of building learning content with sound pedagogic foundations that emphasize integral development, and setting up suitable resources, infrastructure and laboratories that meet the stringent requirements of the IB curricula. I am also the supervisor for extended essays for IB, and examiner for the National Board Examinations and IB. I have a deep passion for teaching and always refine strategies and methods to make learning effective and fun. I have guided state and national level science projects which have been highly appreciated and rewarded. My past students have made significant inroads into Government, Academia and Industry, both in India and overseas. I have often been appreciated as “role model” teacher both by the school administration and students that spurs me to do even better and make meaningful impact on society through holistic education. I have been a National level Table Tennis Player (II position) and also the Maharashtra state level champion in Table tennis and Badminton. I am accomplished in Bharatnatyam dance. Sports and cultural activities is very dear to me and I have used these as a means to inculcate team spirit, camaraderie, and teach students, not just learning to win, but also accept failures in life turning them into opportunities for learning and internal growth. Over the last thirty-three years I have predominantly focused on teaching my subject, innovatively and effectively, using latest technologies and methods. I have also co-authored a paper on “Learning for Life - Building Blocks to Holistic Education,” at the 10th European Conference on eLearning, UK, 2011. During my tenures, I have assisted the school administration, and often held responsibilities of the Principal when the regular incumbent proceeded on leave.
