Souradeep Panda

My musical voyage has began in 1999 with Indian Classical Music under my Guru Sri Gautam Chattopadhyay. At the age of 10, I gave audition and my performance was aired on Akashvani, All India Radio, Kolkata. I have completed 4 years Diploma in vocal classical with distinctions. Between these years of this training I got a Musical keyboard as my birthday gift and that's when I started learning the basics of western music genres and performed with various bands (Flame, Nucleus, Obscure) as a keyboardist. Obscure was selected as one of the top three rock bands in Kolkata by The Fever 104.0 FM and we have performed live on air in an evening show.

In 2012, I started playing Drums and Percussions under the coaching of Mr. Shubhajit Sinha (Drummer of Alka Yagnik, Vinod Rathod's band). After that I have started doing gigs in various college fests and band competitions(Ecstasy, Rhapsody, Anakronos, Enthuzea) with various bands (Incineration, Quad Squad, Band of NRSMCH, Ichhe Dana).

In 2017 I got the chance to be one of disciple of the Maestro, Sir Monojit Dutta, under his great guidance I have learned the basics of Latin Music and started playing the cajón. He showed us the perfect way to play of the bossa nova, samba, salsa, rumba, cumbia and Latin jazz. I have participated in various workshops in Space School of Music but I was so unlucky as we have lost the legend as he succumbed to cardiac arrest after a gig at Delhi's Piano Man's Jazz Club.

I have started giving lessons to the beginners since 2017 and with the help of creative approaches, I always try to build a rock solid foundation whoever I teach, which is helping them in every next steps of learning.

At present I am still learning under the guidance of Sir Sanjay Gupta and Playing as a Drummer and Percussionist of the Folk Fusion Band named SaatKahon.
