Myself Mrs. Moumita Dey and I am a 39 years old teacher with a 17 years of experience on the profession. I live in Howrah district of West Bengal state, India with my family includes my husband, one daughter, father-in-law and mother-in-law. I went to “Little Star Kindergarten” English medium School for my pre-primary education and then switch to “Belur Girls’ High School” for my entire schooling. It was full of great and beautiful memories which I still nourish. After my schooling, I have completed my bachelor’s degree from the Calcutta University. I was also started pursuing Master’s Degree, but unable to complete due to my mother’s illness.
My teaching journey started on year 2K from level 4 to 8 but it was in the mode of private tuitions both on premises as a batch and attending students place till 2006. On 2006, I joined an English medium school as a science teacher and continued till 2009. My primary subject was Mathematics. My responsibility was from level 2 to level 6. It was very challenging but it was a nice new experience for me as I always love to spent time with children and students. But I had to quit in mid of 2009 as my daughter arrived in our life, because I was the only one who can look after my new born baby and didn’t wanted to take any risk for her as well as my students because I knew that I can’t devote my full responsibility towards my students.
But as teaching is my first love and can’t live without it, I started private tuition again on the year of 2012 when my daughter grown from new born baby to kid. Since then I am teaching at my home as a batch of students and it was going fine till this Covid 19 pandemic. But due to lock-down situation, it is not very hard to get a student at my home or attending a student’s home to teach. Although I have started providing online teaching but due to technical issues from the students to arrange and poor knowhow about the process, few of my students are only able to take tuitions from me through online. I teach them through online, sometime one to one, or in group, as per requirements or the way I may manage.
But after teaching through online, I found that it is a very good alternate way to share knowledge and providing tuitions even to the students to whom physically it was impossible to reach and teach.
I am dedicated to this profession and want to continue till the day I can. So I want to spend my whole life with this fantastic profession where I have the opportunity to meet new children and students. Sharing my knowledge with them, to teach the subjects and make it easy for them, so that they start loving the subjects they are learning and I believe if they start loving the subjects they will definitely learn quick.
