I am teaching class 12 Tuitions to different level of students. I teach students who require to pass the exam as well as students who want top the board in the subject. I always love to be a mentor and guide to the students for their subject understanding and building concepts of a particular topic. Mathematics is a logical and analytical subject, needs to be taught in that way. I never ask students to crame the things. Class 12 is a board class so i always focus on concepts. I try to include MCQ, 2 marks , 3 marks, 5 marks and case study questions in the practice questions and assignments. Usually a weekly test is must for each student for monitoring the understanding level of the student and hence guide the the students accordingly. Every student has his/her own capabilities So diffrent strategy for each student nees to be incorporated in your teaching methology. My experince with the students suggest that regular interactions with the students is a must and each student be taken as a new case. Ofcourse some standard processes are same for all students like taking tests on regular intervals, on each topic taught, combined tests, pointing the mistakes and guiding some do and dont do things. The basic mistakes done by the students in the exam must be clearly and loudly be told to the students. Detailed notes should be prepared by the students while studying underlining the important tpoics. I always ask Students to mark and revise those questions particularly where stuents generally stuck before final exam.

For the first few days, don't say let's study. Instead, ask him to play with you. These games may include edutainment sort of games. Once he is comfortable with that, then start slowly for 10 mins to make him study his interest, and by doing so, I think he will gradually develop the habit of sitting for studies.
