What Hindi lacks is the freedom from the baggage that gets lumped on it as being than just a regular language.Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and none of the other languages have such a heavy baggage associated with it.its unbreakable link with Urdu always questioned. And never mind that the official standardized Hindi can't be understood by those whose native language is Hindi.
