ABACUS:
- Abacus is a ancient Chinese tool
- Abacus is still widely used in place of the calculator in china.
- In each rod of the abacus, there are four beads below the beam and one bead above the beam.
- Each bead below the rod has the value one (1) and each bead above the rod has the value five (5)
Course details:
- The children will first be taught simple addition and subtraction on the Chinese tool the abacus
- They will then move on to larger numbers
- After constant practice in a structured manner on the abacus, the beads are formed in the mind and the children can start calculating mentally. This process is called â??imageryâ?? or â??visualization and is a â??right brain functionâ??
- The children then go on to learn multiplication, division and decimals.
- On completing the course, the children apart from being extremely proficient in all 4 basic operations, also exhibit remarkable increase in brain development and accuracy.
