Both the Spanish guitar and acoustic guitar are acoustic instruments. However, most of the time when someone says they play acoustic guitar, they mean the commonly used steel-string guitar. Nylon string guitars are either what we call classical guitars or flamenco guitars. So, nowadays, Spanish Guitar is frequently recognized as the classical guitar and the acoustic guitar means the steel string guitar.
