Hello,
According to the french grammar the two genders exist for the nouns, pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, verbs etc. the main confusion for the usage is how to recognised word in terms of the masculine or feminine?
Here are some tips to recognise it:
1. If the noun forms by ending with tion or sion than it is surely feminine.
2. If the noun forms by the help of ture it is feminine.
3. The endings ment or ement is masculine.
4. The formation of noun with age is always masculine.
However there are some nouns which can be form in both the genders. Like:
-eur/ -euse.
-teur/trice.
-ant/ante.
