I’m an IIT kanpur graduate. I’ve taught many medical students for last 5 years. Best result is AIR-4, NEET-19 and many more qualified NEET with AIR under 1000. My students have also qualified AIIMS exams with rank under 500. My strategy for medical students is to just remove the fear of physics from them and make them believe that physics is very easy if prepare in right direction with a confidence that every problem has solution and just keep on learning.

A block is kept on the floor of an elevator at rest. The elevator starts descending with an acceleration 12 m/s. Find the displacement of the block during the first 0.2 s after the start?

Acceleration should be 12m/s^2. If such and block is not bound to be with the elevator then it will go down with acceleration of 'g'. Then displacement in first 0.2s will be s=1/2gt^2 (taking u=0). S=0.2 m
