Ans: Ludwig Van Beethoven was a great musician and composer. In this story, we come across the generous and humanitarian side of Beethoven as well. While taking a stroll with his friend on a moonlit night, his ears are regaled by the sound of beautiful music. He listens and understands it was his own Sonata F being played. Soon, however, the music is replaced by sobs. The blind young girl who plays the harpsichord feels incapable of playing such lovely music. She wishes she could have attended a musical concert by Beethoven. On hearing this, Beethoven immediately obliges and enters the small cottage from where the music was coming. Initially, Beethoven doesn’t disclose his identity. However, he plays beautiful music to make the girl’s wish come true. Beethoven was thus a kind-hearted and good-natured man who performed a concert at his fan’s residence as she could not afford to pay and attend his show. He inspired her and was thus also a great patron of music. Beethoven’s kindness, compassion and creative genius shine forth in this story. He finds the setting to be beautiful and on a creative impulse composes “A moonlight sonata” which is mesmerizing beautiful. Thus his creative genius is also seen. However, what stands out in the story is Beethoven’s down to earth nature, his kindness and his willingness to encourage aspiring musicians.
