Sun is considered to be the king of all planets. It's bright, fierce and authoritative nature makes it prominent amongst the planets. Also it exalts in the first zodiac sign i.e. Aries which again makes it a prominent one. Thus Sun sign matters most in the Vedic astrology. It also plays the role of Soul.

My favourite thing about astrology is that it's results are to a great extent based on the astronomy calculations. And when you understand the calculations It does miracles. Also transit of planets give amazing outcomes. So one shouldn't be disappointed if one's chart doesn't show good results. In that case one should wait for the phase of transition of planets to filter one's chart.
