I am looking to focus my career in psychological research and programs with productive contribution in social sector because of it being as my core area of interest and aptitude. I see myself as a researcher as a long term goal preferably in the field of Psychology. I want to explore the different branches of psychology by doing research work.
I did graduation in Psychology (Hons.) from Keshav Mahavidyalaya (University Of Delhi), after completing graduation, I also did a Certificate course in Counseling and guidance from Department of Adult, Continuing Education & Extension, University of Delhi and later on I did my Masters in Psychology from IGNOU.
After completing the Graduation, I started working as “Research Assistant” in Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi under the project “Establishing Process based identification and mentoring of Gifted Children in Science and Mathematics”. In this project, my duties and responsibilities were working with the Students from Govt. Schools and Private school i.e conducting exam, doing data collection, Research analysis, mentoring young minds and Counseling.
Later on, I started working as a “Counsellor” in National Tobacco Quit line Services –a Sponsored scheme of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under the aegis of Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University Of Delhi, where I provide telephonic counseling as well as face to face counseling to peoples who wants to get rid of Tobacco (Both Smoking and Smokeless). In addition to this, I also worked on article writing i.e Special article on National Tobacco Quit-line Services in the Indian journal of chest Diseases & Allied Science and National Tobacco Quit-line Services: The Preliminary Indian Experience.
From December 2017- December 2019, I was worked as “Change Maker Fellow” in Education Department of Delhi Government. I was designing the educational projects related Children with Special Needs and conducting research study regarding impact of interventions and programs which have been implemented by Department.
Because of my strong interest to be researcher in field of psychology, educational qualification and working experiences of last five years; I strongly believe that this is appropriate post to perform well and contribute more along with tuning my career in right way.
