She trained as an architect and has been associated with craft design and traditional craft skills for the last 23 years. Her architectural work in residential, office and resort design has been mostly in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. The designs bear a distinct craft input and detailing with a specialty in wood and bamboo material. She has her own design studio called E’thaan based in both New Delhi and Himachal Pradesh which specializes in wood and bamboo based design and hand skills. The use, research and development of bamboo as a material for craft and architecture has been the focus of her work in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Nagaland since 1991. Her design work has been regularly exhibited at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi for the past 17 years and her design exhibition ‘Basically Bamboo’ was presented at the India International Center, New Delhi in Sept 2016.
