IdentityI have enjoyed making and teaching art for over 10 years now and it is needless to say these two activities are more rewarding than anything else in the world. Helping others create gives me immense pleasure, esp. the moment when the face of a student lights up at attaining the desired result after struggle.
I have taught several age groups all ranging from 4 to 40 and though the challenges might change, the sense of achievement and happiness never varies no matter what age you are.
My ethos when it comes to teaching young children is fairly simple and straightforward. Keep it simple and interesting for their young and impressionable minds. I do so by taking a multi dimensional approach about a singular subject. This approach includes activities ranging from, painting, sculpting, storytelling, experimenting and all sorts of things that a child's imagination might take to. I like to call it the flight of fantasy.
I believe it s important that children's art activities combine understanding of aesthetics with developing skill and knowledge set, and the focus is on process of making art than the product of art itself. That they think more of 'why' and 'how' than only 'what'.
My biggest strengths are my passion for making and teaching art and my problem solving attitude. I am grateful to be able to share this passion with others, especially when they are young.
