Coming from a similar backdrop, I had similar concerns a few years back; now there are two aspects for preparing for CAT. One is how to clear the CAT exam with high percentile, and for that, I think you have realized that spending 2 hours daily for six months at least would be enough and there are plenty of study materials etc. with the mantra being practice and more practice.
The second part is how to grow as a professional to be taken seriously if you manage to get good percentile. For that, I would suggest thinking about how you can showcase that you have multi-dimensional as well there are many skills in your attic. So you can try to join some NGO on a weekend basis or start some initiative which can help you stand out among thousands of applications of similar nature. I hope this helps.
