If 360 is in degrees, tan360 = 0, else if it is in radians convert it in degrees by 360*180/pi. then you get tan360 = -3.38. Usually if unspecified it is considered in radians.

First of all, that is not the correct unit for acceleration. Assuming you meant to say 12m/s^2, Since the elevator is descending at an acceleration greater than acceleration due to gravity, the block will have a relative acceleration of 2.2m/s^2 in the opposite direction as the block will start free... ...more
First of all, that is not the correct unit for acceleration. Assuming you meant to say 12m/s^2, Since the elevator is descending at an acceleration greater than acceleration due to gravity, the block will have a relative acceleration of 2.2m/s^2 in the opposite direction as the block will start free falling. Using the equation S = u*t + 0.5*a*t*t yields S = 0*0.2 + 0.5*(-2.2)*0.2*0.2 = 0.044m in the opposite direction of the elevator.
