IdentityPost BTech in 2015, I pursued MA in psychology from Jamia (faculty of social sciences). I have also been preparing for UPSC with Psychology as my optional and given CSE mains twice. I have been teaching psychology for the past 1.5 years at home as well as on Unacademy to both CBSE students and UPSC aspirants.
Techniques employed in teaching:
1. teaching by example wherein the student is made to learn the concept based on day to day examples. (Eg. My dogs sits whenever asked to because he has been conditioned to do so by rewarding him with a candy)
2. Role reversal with the teacher to ensure better and clear understanding of concepts.
3. Answer writing from previous year questions.
4. Mindmap formation of chapter for rapid revision
5. Recent trends in psychology - current affairs for UPSC aspirants
In addition to these, the flexibility of teaching the student as per his/her needs will be catered to so as to ensure that the student learns in a participative manner instead of engaging in rote learning.
Adherence to NCERT will be maintained however, wherever the student is unable to understand any concept, foreign author eg Baron/Ciccarelli/Morgan will be referred to but only on concept clarity purpose. The student will not be burdened with any supplementary or reference books.
