You can’t migrate Salesforce Classic console apps to Lightning Experience. Some features in Salesforce Classic console apps aren’t available in Lightning console apps, including but not limited to: Custom keyboard shortcuts Multi-monitor Push notifications Macros Live Agent Lightning Console JavaScript API (Pilot) The Lightning Console JavaScript API is available as a developer preview and a pilot feature. This API provides methods for Lightning console apps similar to those provided by the Console Integration Toolkit for Salesforce Classic console apps. Not all of the methods available in the Console Integration Toolkit are available in the Lightning Console JavaScript API. If you’re interested in joining this pilot, contact Salesforce. Visualforce Visualforce is available in Lightning console apps as beta, which means it’s a high-quality feature with known limitations. Lightning console apps support Lightning pages using the Visualforce Lightning component, as well as Visualforce mass actions. Visualforce components in utility bar items are not supported. Some Visualforce overrides in pages displayed in Lightning console apps don’t work. New and edit Visualforce overrides in Lightning console apps have an effect, while view, delete, list, and tab overrides are ignored. Lightning Component Action Overrides Lightning component overrides in pages displayed in Lightning console apps don’t work. If a user performs an action with a Lightning component override, it loads the Lightning page originally assigned to that action. If a user triggers the same action outside of a Lightning console app, it still has the override effect. Ensure that you meet your data validation requirements using triggers and validation rules, rather than code that only runs in the action override. This strategy ensures that your data is valid, whether it’s changed using a standard action or an action override. Person Accounts Person accounts don’t have the same three-column layout as business accounts. Use the Lightning App Builder to create the desired layout, and then assign it to appropriate console app and the person account record type. Person account records that display in contact Related Record components are read-only. Forecasting The forecasting object isn’t supported in Lightning console apps. Salesforce Knowledge Some Knowledge component actions don’t work in Lightning console apps, including attaching PDF files, adding article contents to case emails, and adding article community URLs.
