My journey in academia and education has been a rich tapestry woven with the threads of history, passion for teaching, and scholarly pursuit. Graduating with a degree in history laid the foundation for my academic endeavors. It was during this time that I began to recognize the profound impact history has on shaping our understanding of the world. Fuelled by a desire to delve deeper into the intricacies of historical narratives, I pursued a master's degree in gender studies. This interdisciplinary approach provided me with a nuanced perspective, allowing me to explore history through the lens of gender dynamics, social structures, and power relations.
However, my academic journey truly flourished when I had the privilege to work alongside the eminent historian Romila Thapar as her research assistant. Under her guidance, I delved into the depths of historical research, honing my skills in critical analysis, archival research, and academic writing. This experience not only enriched my understanding of history but also instilled in me a profound appreciation for the complexities and nuances of the past.
As I embark on the next chapter of my academic journey, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination. Armed with a deep-seated passion for history and a commitment to fostering intellectual curiosity, I aspire to pursue a master's followed by a Ph.D. in history. My goal is to contribute to the scholarly discourse, uncovering untold stories and shedding light on marginalized voices throughout history.
