Teaching is a process of imparting education to the society. Education is a training of mind and the content of this training depends upon the objective or the context. The purpose of education is to bring out the already existing humanity in men. This is the purpose of education for me, as in present competitive age, we are consistently losing touch with humanity. The focus has been shifted towards the by-­ products of the education at the cost of its true meaning. In this manner, we are producing skilled or semiskilled labors and literate but not educated individuals. There is nothing bad in getting ability of earning livelihood, but is doing so, the only objective of human race? Satisfaction, happiness, and peace of mind bring one towards ones real objective. The most appropriate form of education is found in Swami Vivekananda's views "We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on ones own feet." The above mentioned purpose and form of education has ever inspired me to come to this noble world of teaching.
For me, teaching is not just a profession, but it is a mission. A mission to revive the receding humanity. Teaching demands the total commitment towards the students. As a teacher is interacting with the most potential and energetic human resource. It is the responsibility of a teacher to provide a proper shape and direction to this energy.
