Daksh Sharma

As a graduate in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Science, I have a strong understanding of the
technical and practical aspects of project management and environmental consulting. Additionally, during my
experience as a project assistant and consultant at Grey Water Private Limited, I assisted project managers in the
coordination and execution of impact assessments for a variety of projects, including infrastructure development
and renewable energy projects. I was responsible for collating and analyzing data and preparing reports. I also
assisted in project planning, scheduling and budgeting. Joining the Teach For India fellowship further added a lot of
value to my being by enhancing my soft skills which were lacking in my previous job roles. It inculcated a sense of
possibility, resourcefulness and helped me discover empathy as my core value thus enabling me to execute certain
capacity building projects around the community successfully. Since my professional experiences helped me
develop holistic skills, I consider myself an ideal pick to add more value to your esteemed organization.
During the course of my professional experience in engineering, I have successfully led teams to execute projects
under harsh deadlines with less than 5% error and generated over 12% profits for 8 projects that I was a part of.
After switching into the educational domain as a fellow at Teach For India, I leverage my earlier experience and new
skills developed during the fellowship (curriculum planning and implementation) to create a larger impact. I
facilitated Mission Mathematics in my classroom introduced by the Directorate of Education and achieved
enhancement in average student mastery in Math by 40%. During the second year of my fellowship, I started my
project Janta Jam centered around Social Emotional Learning through which I was able to impact 326 students
across 9 TFI classrooms through facilitating interactive sessions inculcating basic music skills. My experience in all
these roles has prepared me well for the responsibilities that I wish to undertake and I am confident that I can
contribute to the success of your projects
