Chhau's origin is traceable to indigenous forms of dance and martial practices. It ranges from martial arts, acrobatics to athletics. It not only gives you physical strength but also works on your physical flexibility, body rhythm and concentration.Â
It is a theatre group, working on creating awareness and training of various forms of performing arts amongst people from different walks of the nation. The sole purpose of establishing this group was to bring the aspiring actors and performers on a common ground and to bring out the most in them.
The training programmes are designed in such a manner to mould artists par excellence. Training is highly intensive and based on a thorough, comprehensive and carefully planned syllabus which covers every aspect of theatre and in which theory is related to practice. It lays emphasis on a better and deeper knowledge and understanding of theatre.
Theatreleela doesn't focus solely on teaching the techniques of acting rather various other skills related to theatre, such as light and sound management, costume designing and selection as well as make up are also taken into consideration.
Theatreleela Acting Studio has conducted several acting and skill developing workshops in colleges of Delhi University as well as various other schools in Delhi.
The students associated with Theatreleela Acting Studio also got a chance to showcase their talent at Sri Ram Centre and other institutes and have been given various opportunities to perform on stage at different events and venues.
