Any sort of knowledge is useful, real question is what are you willing gain from it. Course referred to is related to testing robustness of a system and to an extent of a software infrastructure from outbound threats.
Ethical hacking, as name is quite appealing, i must say. But no course can give you extensive coverage on the topic. If you really want be a hacker with ethics than try reading protocol descriptions and associated source code, for that to be effectively done you are supposed to have exceptional mastery in underlying language C, C++ or whichever utilized.
But those are my views others might differ.
