Saurabh Mittal

I am Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in year 2014, in the field of Geology & Geophysics. I worked on new methodologies for subsurface imaging and applied that to exploring Uranium mineralization around South Purulia Shear zone, West Bengal. I am Proficient in Teaching & Research pertaining to various aspects of Earth Sciences, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Remote Sensing & GIS (Geo-informatics), Environmental Sciences and Mining Engineering. Further, my considerable experience at Dehradun with one of the well-known Petroleum Institutes, would be highly beneficial for the courses related to Hydrocarbons as well as Energy Resources.
Over a period of 9 years has gained experience and expertise in Student Counseling, Enrollments, Student and Faculty Induction/Orientation, Program development (from seeding new programs to upgrading existing programs), Accreditations (NBA & NAAC), Field-Works/Workshops/ Conferences.
Guided three Doctoral Theses (two already awarded) in different fields, like GIS, where I have worked with an ISRO scientist on the Assessment of hydrological risk from Torrential watersheds utilizing Earth Observational data and Google Earth Engine, and that is published in Springer Nature, in Hydrogeology (With Assistant Professor), where we have developed a model to calculate temperature of ground water using oxygen isotopes, and that yielded two SCI publications and a patent (under review) and in Geophysics (with GM at ONGC) to look for Hydrocarbon Prospectivity below basalts (published two research papers in SCI Journals). I am a reviewer of an Earth Science journal and reviewer of scientific projects for funding by UGC, Govt. of India, I am also involved in skill development of professionals, like conducting and delivering lectures on Seismics (online video lectures for Accenture), Physical Geology and Hydrogeology for L&T ECC; lectures related with the Lab experiments (Geophysical) under USWDP for Middle management and senior management level, with 15 - 30 years of work experience from Jawzjan University, Afghanistan and delegates from Texas A&M University, USA, FHI 360 and ConDev, USA; delivering eight days practical training sessions (lasting around 6 - 7 hrs per day) for a batch from Petroserv. I am also engaged in self-development, which is evident from the fact that I have earned five certificates related to online teaching and learning, and Oil & Gas Marketing, Leadership through Storytelling etc. through Coursera during COVID-19 times, and completed 11 months certificate program on Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practices (equivalent to PGCHE).
