My motivation to go for the teacher training was mainly to develop myself in the field of yoga, which is close to my heart. Although i knew the asanas, pranayama and the overall concept of yoga since childhood, but of course there were some edges which needed smoothing out. My experience during the training was good, given the coverage and depth of knowledge imparted. I have always looked at yoga as a lifestyle rather than a workout session, which echoed strongly with my trainers. The schedule used to be quite hectic with daily asanas amounting to 4–5 hours, but still was able to push on probably due to the procedures being taught correctly. If you are planning to take the yoga teachers course, I would suggest you to do proper research for your targeted institute and the teachers. It is imperative to learn the authentic Yoga techniques from genuine and veteran teachers. Your trainers’ experience is important since learning yoga is not just knowing what to do, but also what not to do - which comes through experience only. To prep yourself for the course, make sure you are quite comfortable in all the basic asanas, and at least can enter into the moderate asanas. This will steepen your learning curve and give you immense benefits from the training.
