I taught for a year at a Low Income Private school in Pune. I taught 115 students 7th Graders at Ideal English Medium Primary School, Pune. My subjects were SST and English. It was an experience that taught me many things, how each student requires a different method to learn and engage with the topic. I curated art based learning lessons for visual learners and sometimes gamified learning. I also gave regular tests to get an understanding as to how much the students understood what I have facilitated as a teacher and where we can improve. For my English lessons, we discussed new words by using them in our class for a week and also gauging how a new word can be used as a noun, verb or an adjective. It made students eager and they were active to learn something that was beyond just mandated lessons but helped them in the longer run.
