- Define your outcome: This is where you set your goal. You need to define your purpose clearly before you start.
Just defining your goal isn’t all that enough. You need to build willpower for the same. Without willpower, you will lose motivation aft8er a while. So ask yourself:
Why do I want to study this?
What are the painful feelings and experiences I will have to go through if I don’t follow upon? ( Simple Tip: Attach as strong painful feelings as possible)
What are the pleasure feelings I could experience if I complete ___ and achieve my goal? ( Simple Tip: Attach as intense feelings of pleasure as possible)
- Take action: This is where experience plays into your self-study journey. Once you have set your outcome, you start to take action because you have to. By now you know that it is going to be painful if you don’t go through and achieve your outcome.
And you also know that achieving your outcome has immense pleasure and happiness. The fruit of success is more pleasurable than the pain of working hard
Review your progress: At this stage, you are doing better than 95% of the people around you. You have a definite outcome in mind. You are working hard, and you have a significant focus on achieving your goal.
However, it's quite important to keep reviewing your progress.
Are you progressing more quickly than you anticipated?
Are you progressing slowly? A why so?
Enjoy your success: Nothing comes better than succeeding in a self-study program.
