    • Does not extend beyond its endpoints.
    • Represented by the endpoints (e.g., [AB]).
  • Example: A stick of fixed length.

 


3. Ray:

  • Definition: A ray is a part of a line that starts at a specific point (called the endpoint) and extends infinitely in one direction.
  • Key Features:
    • One endpoint.
    • Extends infinitely in one direction.
    • Represented with an arrow at one end (e.g., →AB).
  • Example: A sunbeam that starts at the sun and extends outward.
