How to prepare for the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2019?
There will be 5 or 6 subjects to prepare for the CBSE board exam. You can score good marks if you give equal importance and focus on every topic.
I will give you essential strategies to prepare and some preparation tips:
1) You have to study consistently every single day for at least 3 hours. I mean 3 hours of self-study (learning by yourself) and not tuition or coaching time. Study for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break and repeat this process until you finish studying (Apply Pomodoro Technique).
2) Make sure that you revise whatever you have learnt in school immediately after reaching home. Spend at least 30 mins to remember and recall whatever has been taught in the school.
3) Apply “Abraham Paul's Study Technique”
This technique is devised by me, and many of my students found it very useful for remembering and understanding difficult concepts. The method goes like this:
“Pick a book and Start reading the topic/subject you want to learn. After you have finished reading, now close the book. Close your eyes and then start running a movie(or mental video) in your head of whatever you have learnt from the book. Try to visualise what you have read as pictures and objects so that you are seeing yourself doing it practically in your mind. If you are stuck somewhere, then go back and read the book again and then repeat the above process until you fully remember and understand all the concepts!”
Bonus: After learning a particular topic immediately start teaching that topic to someone who does not know it! It will improve your understanding of the subject and also your communication skills.
4) Solve more questions because in the exam only questions are going to be asked. So you must practice as many questions as possible. I advise you to solve previous year question papers of last ten years and also the sample question paper that is issued by the CBSE itself. It will give you more confidence to face the actual board exam without any stress.
Also, take mock tests at home every week to assess your performance on a regular basis.
5) Give equal importance to all the subjects and focus more on your weak areas or subjects. Make sure that you are comfortable in every topic in all the subjects in your course. Never leave any question for the board exam as you have to “expect the unexpected” in the actual board exam.
6) If you are not able to understand a particular topic, then ask your teacher to explain the concept again. Still, if you are not able to comprehend then watch some good videos on YouTube about the topic and search Google for easy explanation of the question.
7) Finally, revise whatever you have learnt since if you don't reconsider, then you will forget and whatever you have learnt becomes useless and the time which you spend learning will also become wasted. So Revise whatever you have learnt during the week at the weekend.
That's it.
These are my top 7 preparation strategies to excel in the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2019.
