PREJUDICE
DEFINITION: Attitudes towards a particular group which are usually negative and in many cases based on stereotypes (C component).
Prejudice is based upon race, gender, caste, etc. to show negative feelings towards people belonging to other groups.
Prejudice is frequently accompanied by dislike or hatred(A component).
Prejudice may get translated into discrimination(B component).
Prejudice is not based on truth and originates from a lack of knowledge about a group.
Note: Stereotypes is a cluster of ideas regarding the characteristics of a specific group.
They are based on the preconceived belief, which can be positive negative or neutral and based on factors like gender, occupation, etc.
It consists of undesirable characteristics about the target group(our group), which lead to negative attitudes or PREJUDICES. It might be based on truth and can originate from prejudice.
