when there is movement of body ,or object change its position the object is said to be in the motion ,
note -distance and time are important in describing motion .
now take an example to understand more better
suppose you are moving away from your friend who is tied by the teacher to the tree of school (for fun only )
your tied friend is staionary and you are moving away from it and you cover some small daistance with passage of time so simply you are in motion ,so whenever there is movement of body with respect to a refrence point object is said to be in motion.
