With over thirty years of experience, Geetha has made a mark in the field of Film music as a successful play back singer and a revered musician. Having lent her voice for over 1000 movies in 9 different languages for leading music directors makes Geetha one of the most sought-after singers.
Early Years:
Hailing from a family that breathes music, Geetha started learning Carnatic classical music from her father Sadagopan at an early age of 4. Later trained by veterans like thiruvengadu Jayaraman and Charumathi Ramachandran, Geetha chose to pursue singing for movies.
Experience:
On being chosen by the maestro Isaignani Ilayaraja to sing for his orchestra, Geetha began her foray into films and never looked back since then. She has crooned for several other top class music directors in various languages. To name a few, Chakravarthi, Keervani, Deva, Shankar Ganesh, Vidyasagar, S.A.Rajkumar Sirpi, Bharadwaj, Thaman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Mani Sharma, Karthik Raja, Srikanth Deva. She has also performed concerts and shows in India and abroad. Besides, Geetha has been actively involved in teaching Carnatic music and voice culture to several students over the last ten years. She is a graded artist from the All India Radio, Chennai.
