Overview
Calcutta International School started as a small institution exclusively for the children of the then-numerous expatriate British community. In 1970, the Calcutta International School Society (CISS) was formed under the West Bengal Society's Regulation Act, 1961. It changed to its current name in 1971. In 2007, the school moved to a larger campus. Today, the school serves the sons and daughters of expatriates, foreign passport holders, former non-resident Indians, and local children.
