Astrological Resume Astrological Education The curiosity of Astrology developed way back in 1972 when studying in medical school, as one of my class buddy Mr.Omkarappa compelled me to take his horoscope to show it to my mother, who was into this from many years. I was amazed to see my mother describing about the guy whom she has not seen only studying through the horoscope. That was the beginning my journey of Astrology under the guidance of my Mother, who in turn learnt the science from her Father. Interest turned into passion, and went in search of a Guru, fortunately found one and under his tutoring learnt the art of interpretation. Then, over a period of time, my self-teaching continued with the aid of various books such as Brihat Jataka, Phala Jyotishya, Phala Deepika, Astro Sutras, Nakshatra, and many other vernacular books. Amidst my medical practice, portion of my time was exclusively devoted for the people in the community for astrological consultation & reading. After 20 years of research in Vedic Astrology, I got an opportunity to develop my knowledge further through formal training. It was a three year program at The Bangalore Astrological Association, Bangalore, India, between 1992-1995 during which I was awarded the “Jyothishya Praveena” degree on successful completion of the required examination. . Lectures & Work shops Delivered several lectures and conducted workshops at Sydney in 1997 and 1998(under the auspices of Australian Council of Vedic Astrology) on the following topics: • Sade-Sathi • Effects of Gems • Translation of one chapter of Brihat jataka Delivered lectures on “Sade-Sathi” in Rotary and Lions club meetings in Bangalore, India in 1997 Conducted a detailed workshop on “Sade-Sathi” at “Sahitya Parishad” (Arts & Cultural Association) Shimoga, India in 2000. Delivered a lecture in Bangalore Astrological Association, Bangalore, India December 2001. Delivered a presentation for Rotary Club of PNG “ Astrology & its application in Human Resource Management” Port Moresby, PNG 2006. Delivered a Presentation for Ladies association of PNG “ Saturn’s influence on mind”, Port Moresby, PNG 2007. Teaching & Training Home tutored Vedic Astrology to several Western Astrologers in Sydney on a periodical basis during 1996-1997. Tutored the basics of Vedic Astrology to a few Indians and Malaysians in Sydney during the same period. Began formal teaching of Astrology for enthusiasts from Nov 4, 2006 till 2008 on every Wednesday in Port Moresby , PNG. Tutored a group of few people in 2008-09 in Banglore, India Formal class under the banner of Sarvamangala Institute of Vedic Astrology began on Jan 15, 2012 at Mahalaxmi lay out, Bangalore, India on every Wednesday. Still continuing every Sunday on Skype. In Fiji Islands began to tutor few doctors on Vedic Astrology especially two psychologists, psychiatrist and pathologist. Launched a website on www.suprabhata.net on Jan 15, 2015 by Sri TS Krishnamurthy.
