Fair Question :) If you are new to the cloud computing world. You must be familiar with one of the public cloud we have in the market right now(Aws, Azure, Google cloud, IBM cloud and others....). However, your question is related to AWS and Azure.
As we all know, that AWS is dominant as of the recent analysis which holding around 35 - 40 % market. It doesn't mean that AWS is a top-notch player (its just all over the companies and projects requirements which suits AWS).
By the way, the reality is not about technology decisions, as I said it's all about the business decisions(for example, if you need pass with windows integrations and services Azure is the best platform to choose).
In my experince, the projects that I'm supporting use both AWS and Azure as per the requirements(cost, workloads, performance and a lot include in it.)
To conclude, you are the decision maker and be a good player with any one of those clouds. If you are strong enough, go for both. By the way, Azure and AWS are two heavyweights of the cloud world.
