But in Bangalore CBSE school LKG admissions are given only if they complete 3.5 years. Since my son is completing only 5 years 4 months by jun will it be possible to get him admission directly... more»

Your child will be quite younger than the youngest in the batch, which might be a disadvantage in terms of sports and other competitive activities. Your child will be quite younger than the youngest in the batch, which might be a disadvantage in terms of sports and other competitive activities. We had the same issue with our October born kid when we moved to Bangalore, but we decided to put him in a lower grade with other kids his age. It's a decision we have never regretted. He is doing much better academically and sportswise with his peers than with kids who were a year older (and bigger) than him. Plus we felt he would be a year older and maturer when he goes out into the world. Having said that, schools do accommodate younger kids if parents insist. Some schools, such as chennai based PSBB takes in kids who have completed 5 yrs 6 months as on June 1 for grade 1. You would have to contact individual schools to find out their age criterion.
