The quantities which have their magnitude and direction both are known as vector quantity.
But also follow the vector addition law then only the quantity is said to be vector. For example current has it's magnitude as well as direction but it is not a vector quantity because it doesn't follow the vector addition law. The examples of vector quantities are velocity, acceleration, force etc.
