Course Overview:

Irrespective of the States or universities the Course Content is very similar for most Btech Diploma/BCA/BTech Curriculum. Any other University course curriculum can be easily incorporated for the course.

Operating System is an important basic subject for Computer Science Grads. I requires a lot of attention to details and clear understanding is very critical for anyone planning to pursue a serious career in Computer Science. 

Methodology: The course will keep in mind the level of the student and be personalized to be adaptive to the few students (3) enrolled.

Main Objectives of the course:

• Describe operating system operations and operating system structures.
• Understand process management and apply process scheduling algorithms
• Synchronization and discover the methods for handling deadlocks.
• Explain the memory management techniques.
• Discover the concepts related to virtual memory management
• Identify file systems concepts.

Main Topics : Complete list of detail topics as attached in the course high level syllabus. All Topics will be covered above and beyond the textbook contents only, and tailor towards practical understanding.

Study Material: Study material will be the textbook per the State university. Notes will be provided as slides at the end of the course and periodically as needed. Testing will be conducted every 2 weeks.
