I am Dr. Md Afroz Alam, a certified digital teacher with the ICT Academy. I completed my PhD degree in bioinformatics from the Jaypee University of Information Technology, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) in 2009. I have 15 years of teaching experience and 19 years of research experience in the field of bioinformatics. I have 24 research publications in reputed journals, 21 conference proceedings, and 2 book chapters. I have delivered 30 invited lectures at national conferences, seminars, and workshops. I have also organized 22 programs, such as workshops, seminars, conferences, and add-on courses, at the national and international levels. My area of expertise includes computer-aided drug design, molecular modelling and simulation, QSAR and pharmacophore modelling, biostatistics, R programming, and Unix and Linux. I have trained undergraduate and graduate students while pursuing a Ph.D. degree. Since 2009, I have supervised two Ph.D. students, 23 M.Tech. projects, and 47 B.Tech. projects in the field of bioinformatics. I have also supervised three foreign interns: one graduate student from the Technical University of Munich, Germany; one undergraduate student from the University of Leipzig, Germany; and one PhD student from Trabiat Modares University, Iran, who completed their internship project under my able guidance in the IAESTE scheme. I am also a committed mentor at different organizations like TeacherOn, Superprof, Teachnook EdTech, and the Nano Science and Technology Consortium (NSTC).

I am a professor of bioinformatics, experienced in biology, and have 15 years of teaching experience. I am looking to influence expertise in emerging attractive teaching plans and nurturing student learning at school, college, and university. I have been teaching different subjects in biology, including Zoology and Botany, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics like Computer Aided Drug Designing, Molecular Modeling and Simulation, Cheminformatics and QSAR, Artificial Neural Network, Molecular Evolution and Phylogeny, Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering, Bioinformatics Algorithm, Big Data Analysis, R Programming, Unix and Linux, Database System Administration, Next Generation Sequencing, Biological Databases, Computational Biology, Bioperl, Analytical Bioinformatics, Clinical Database Management, Drug Discovery and Clinical Trials, and Systems Biology since June 2009 at B.Tech and M.Tech level. My teaching methodology includes presentation, demonstration, observation and explanation, question and answer, show and tell activity, discussion, quiz, brainstorming, recall by keywords, analogy, short seminar, chart activity, case study analysis, and group seminar. For this, I use Google Classroom as well as the associated platform technology for teaching. My area of expertise includes computer-aided drug design, molecular modeling and simulation, QSAR and pharmacophore modeling, biostatistics, R programming, and Unix and Linux.
