Kankana Borthakur

I have over ten years of experience in engineering, specialising in Electronics and Communication Engineering. However, my passion has always been teaching classical music. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Hindustani Music Visharad from Surnandhan Barathi Bathkande Institute. After completing my tenth grade, I began teaching Hindustani classical music on an individual basis. Over the years, I have been able to train and guide many aspiring musicians. I am proud to say that some of my students have even won district-level and Talents of Tumkur competitions.
I aim to give my students a strong foundation in Hindustani classical music and prepare them for a career. I offer online classes in vocal music, specialising in Hindustani classical music theory, Bollywood Hindi gazal, and bhajans. My classes are open to children between the ages of five to thirteen.
I cover topics such as Swargam, 450 Alankara, Ragas, Drupad Dhaman, and practical sessions during my classes. I strive to create a friendly and nurturing learning environment for my students where they can develop their musical talents at their own pace. At the end of my course, I provide my students with certifications after completing a six-year vocal music course. When it comes to teaching, I believe in the power of notes. As a musician, I understand the importance of learning music through notation, ensuring all my students are proficient.
